About the Plan

 The City of Northport is updating its citywide, or "comprehensive," plan. The comprehensive plan sets a vision for the growth and improvement of the city over a 20-year horizon. Only by planning ahead can the city make prudent, fiscally-sound decisions on zoning, annexation and public investments in roads, infrastructure, facilities and services. The Alabama State Code (11-52-8) authorizes cities to prepare such plans and directs the city's planning commission to adopt them.

Your input assures that the Comprehensive Plan represents citizens' desires for the way Northport should be in the future. In addition to taking part in the surveys and other input opportunities on this site, we encourage residents and property owners to attend community meetings and join in the conversation about topics important to you.
